Frequency, Variance, and Significance
I have tracked the color blocking trend in Vogue over the past five months, August to December. The August Issue had the least number of color blocking visuals, with only six ads of color blocking. Many would think this is surprising because it is the end of summer and one would suspect that colors were still consuming fashion. Vogue's August issue was more of an introduction to the fall season, therefore its focus was getting people in the mood for colder weather. Of course, the September Issue had the most visuals with 44 ads related to color blocking. The August and December issues both beat the September Issue on number of editorials related to color blocking. The September Issue is famous for having a massive amount of advertisements, more than any other magazine's September Issue, and didn't have many editorials. The October and November issues had a very similar total of color blocking visuals, October with more advertisements than editorials and November with more editorials than advertisements. In these five Vogue issues, color blocking was seen more than any other trend. Black and white color blocking blew colorful color blocking out of the water with visuals but my color blocking focus does not include black and white.
